The first elected Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, in a video that has just surfaced and made available to the media ordered the mass voting of current Governor of the State, Seriake Dickson and pronounced his victory at the polls and his subsequent assumption of office on February 14, 2016.
In a charged message to Bayelsans, Chief Alamieyeseigha warned that the APC had no agenda for the Ijaw nation and reminded the people that the Ijaw nation has never been conquered and that it was time to guard their mandate and freedom jealousy.
The former Governor and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party commended Dickson for being a good product and affirmed the popular notion that there was no basis for comparing him with other contenders for the office of Governor of Bayelsa State.
“Dickson is a good product. There is no basis for comparison. We know all the characters. Some of them know they they will fail,” assuring Governor Dickson that “come February 14, 2016, you will be sworn-in as Governor.”
The Former Governor earlier called on all Ijaws to vote for Governor Seriake Dickson, whom he commended for his developmental strides and also the PDP, which he described as the adopted Party of the Ijaw people, vowing that the Ijaw people “…will not allow any other Party to infiltrate our rank and file”.
Governor Dickson, popularly known as Ofuruma Pepe, The Great White Shark, is expected to be the first Governor of Bayelsa State to be returned for a second term in office since its creation, thus, breaking the jinx hindering sustainable development in the State and laying the groundwork for enduring governance.
