JUST IN: UNIPORT Students Stage Protest Over School Fees Hike
The atmosphere of the University of Port Harcourt was disturbed with an early morning protest by its students over a recent increment in their school fees.
Some angry students took to a peaceful protest around 4:30 am on Monday, April 11, 2016 to express their displeasure over what they described as the management’s insensitivity to the plight of the students.
It was gathered that the school recently gave a condition that students who fail to pay their school fees would not be allowed to participate in the examination.
The new policy didn’t go down well with the students considering the recent economic crisis that has bedeviled Nigeria.
We gathered that movement around the East-west road has been obstructed by the protesting students.
