APC in early lead as results come in from polling centres

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken an early lead in the announced official results of the Edo election.

 Midway through the results, with nine local governments already announced, APC leads with 142,424 to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) 136,808.
The results in the LGAs show that in Esan South East, APC got 9554 and PDP 11466. In Uhunmwonde, it is APC 10, 911 and PDP 8,667 while Igueben APC 7802 and PDP 7560.

In Egor, it is APC 26,177 and PDP 19,514 and in Esan North East is APC 9130 and PDP 16220 and Owan West has APC with 12, 862 and PDP with 10, 132.

The INEC officials have taken a 1-hour break at 11am to continue the announcement of results at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, the People Democratic Party has claimed that the APC is planning to rig the result of the gubernatorial election in Edo state.

The party alleged in a statement via Prince Dayo Adeyeye, its national publicity secretary, that the APC was planning to rig the elction and Governor Adams Oshiomhole was already working towards that.
