Incompetence: ‘INEC Has Conducted 136 Inconclusive Elections In One Year’ – Yakubu
Mammud Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has disclosed that it recorded “only” 136 inconclusive elections in just one year.
Yakubu, who made the shocking revelation on Thursday, September 1, 2016, during the presentation of a research guide and observation of the 2016 Edo State governorship election at the Yar’Adua centre, Abuja, said the commission was, however, able to achieve 76 percent conclusive elections.
The INEC boss, who was represented at the occasion by the director, Election and Party Monitoring, EPM, Mr. Bala Shittu, was reported to have promised that the 2016 governorship election in Edo and Ondo States will record tremendous improvement from the last one year.
He assured that the commission will take every bold step needed to ensure maximum security of voters in the coming elections, adding that it is collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure a hitch free election in both states.
